What changes can you expect on Yonge Street to further facilitate sustainable travel?

  • Red asphalt paving in centre rapidways and intersections for bus rapid transit.

  • Wider sidewalks with concrete planters for added pedestrian safety and comfort.

  • Raised bike lanes between Levendale Road and 19th Avenue/Gamble Road, and painted bike lanes between Highway 7 and Major Mackenzie Drive.

Cycling on Yonge Street will provide connectivity to the shared pathway on Highway 7 West and allows for multi-modal travel when accessing transit at Richmond Hill Centre Terminal and Bernard Terminal.
