On April 16, 2025, the Richmond Hill South All Candidates Debate was held at the Bayview Hill Community Centre to a full house of residents eager to hear directly from those running to represent them in the upcoming federal election.
All seven confirmed candidates participated, making it a rare and valuable opportunity for voters to hear from the full spectrum of voices on the ballot:
Ebrahim Astaraki, New Democratic Party
Vincent Ho, Conservative Party of Canada
Majid Jowhari, Liberal Party of Canada
Alison Lam, Green Party of Canada
Joshua Sideris, People’s Party of Canada

Juni Yeung, Canadian Future Party
The debate was a dynamic and respectful exchange of ideas, with each candidate addressing pressing issues such as affordability, public safety, immigration, economic resilience, and Canada’s role on the world stage. Residents had the opportunity to ask questions and hear the different party approaches to the challenges and opportunities facing our communities.
