Marney Beck Robinson

Marney Beck Robinson is a dedicated community leader with over 35 years of experience in journalism, including 15 years as editor of The Richmond Hill/Thornhill Liberal. As the co-author of Later Days in Richmond Hill, she has played a pivotal role in documenting the town’s history.

Beyond her work in media, Marney has been deeply committed to community service, volunteering with Girl Guides, Scouts, and school councils. She has also made significant contributions to Hill House Hospice, where she played a key role in public relations and remains an active supporter.

Currently, Marney serves as a board member and social media coordinator for both the Richmond Hill Community Food Bank and MADD York Region. She is also a volunteer with the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival Committee and a citizen member of the David Dunlap Observatory Park Steering Committee. A strong advocate for civic engagement, she has actively participated in municipal, provincial, and federal elections since 2016.

In recognition of her outstanding service and dedication to the Richmond Hill community, Marney Beck Robinson is the recipient of the 2025 Dave Barrow Community Award.
