Today, we were proud to take part in Doors Open Richmond Hill, opening the doors of the historic Richard Vanderburgh House—our office and one of the city’s heritage gems—to curious visitors and local history buffs.
Built in the 1840s by Richard Vanderburgh on land originally settled by Loyalist Captain John Fulton in 1805, the house is a rare example of Georgian clapboard architecture. With its original pine doorway and symmetrical lines, it’s a reminder of Richmond Hill’s early roots—and its enduring spirit of entrepreneurship.
Visitors explored:
Authentic 19th-century architecture, including hand-hewn beams and period design elements
The evolution of the home from a private residence to the modern-day headquarters of the Richmond Hill Board of Trade
How history and innovation meet, with a peek inside our current-day workspace nestled within heritage walls
We loved sharing the story of the Vanderburgh House and welcoming so many friendly faces through our doors at 376 Church Street South. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello, snap photos, ask questions, and learn a little more about the space we’re so proud to call home.
Check out a few of our favourite moments from the day below—and if you missed this year’s event, we hope to see you next time Doors Open rolls around!
